Video Game Console Energy Efficiency and Cost
The Enervee® Score for Video Game Consoles is calculated based on performance per power consumption. Models range from 4.58 to 36.70 performance (scaled) per kWh. This number is converted into an easy energy efficiency rating from 0 to 100 (best). For Gaming Consoles, the CPU and GPU the biggest impact on energy efficiency.
Enervee Score for Video Game Consoles
We first calculate a performance factor for each gaming console based on the underlying hardware specifications across four equally weighted categories:
Central Processor Speed (GHz), Number of Cores, and Threads per Core
Graphics Processer Speed (GHz) & Gflops
CPU & GPU Memory combined
Hard Drive Capacity (GB)
We then calculate the Enervee Score by dividing the performance factor by annual energy consumption and scaling the resulting efficiency factor from 0 to 100.
